* Alloy Thermal-link/ Thermal Cutoff (TCO) is defined as a non-resettable protective device functioning one time only. It is widely used in electrical equipment. Alloy TCO is mainly consist of fusible alloy, flux, plastic or ceramic case, sealant epoxy and lead wires. Normally, fusible alloy is jointed to the two lead wires. Under abnormal condions, when the temp. reaches to the fusing temp. of alloy TCO, the fusible alloy melts and quickly retracts to the two lead wire ends with the aid of the flux and dis connects the circuit completely.

The Y type contains a sliding contact, springs, and a thermal pellet inside a metal case. When spring B is compressed, firm contact between lead A and the sliding contact occurs. At normal temperatures, current flows from lead A to the sliding contact and then through the metal case to lead B.

When the ambient temperature rises to the SEFUSE operating temperature, the heat transferred through the metal case melts the thermal pellet. When the thermal pellet melts, springs A and B expand, moving the sliding contact away from lead A. The electrical circuit is opened by breaking contact between the sliding contact and lead A.
